Security
At our luxury boarding cattery in Dunbar, East Lothian, we have seven double penthouse style pens that are designed for total cat contentment. The pens were constructed by Pedigree Pens Ltd and use PVCu material because of its superior hygiene, weather resistance, ease of cleaning and fire safety properties. The PawSafe mesh, sun-safe roofing, multi-point locking system and 24/7 night vision CCTV surveillance systems will ensure that your cat is safe and secure during their stay.

Comfort
Each of the spacious sleeping quarters has its own pet-safe, thermostatically controlled heater. The sleeping quarters have fully insulated walls and ceilings with two access doors. One door is double glazed toughened safety glass and the other is a solid insulated panel with a built-in cat flap. There are also ventilation panels in the rear of the sleeping quarters that can be opened in the summer months, so your cat is comfortable, whatever the weather.
Protection
In addition to the use of toughened safety glass sneeze-barriers, we have transparent winter weather guards covering the exterior mesh panels in the corridors throughout the winter. Every cat can enjoy unrestricted views of the ornamental gardens and watch the birds, bees and insects that come visit. At all times, the cats remain warm and protected thanks to the clear glass frontages.
Hygiene
We maintain the strictest health and hygiene procedures in all areas of the pen, corridors, kitchen and cleaning room. The large exercise areas and corridors have non-slip, hygienic ceramic tiles fitted which are steam cleaned daily. In addition to our modern sanitary food preparation facility, we have a completely separate cleaning facility to ensure complete sterilization of litter trays and cleaning tools. The demarcation between the cattery and kitchen ensures that all cleaning tools are isolated from food and feeding equipment.
Play
We supply all of the bedding material, toys and any other materials that the cats need to make their stay a pleasant one. We don’t just leave the cats to themselves. Cats are social creatures and we play with them and keep them amused during the day, so that they are never isolated and lonely. The combination of the expansive play area and our interactions will ensure that your cat will always enjoy their stay at the Vonvarda Cats Hotel.

That is not all, our cats hotel was built to meet all of the requirements of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health’s (2013) Model License for Boarding Catteries. We are licensed and inspected by East Lothian Council and uphold all of the conditions as stated in the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations of 2018. Our strict adherence to all relevant regulations means that you can rest assured knowing that your cat will be well looked after.
